Winemaking Notes
100% Albariño, 5% aged in Acacia, 10% aged in New American Oak, the rest held in tank until bottling.
Tasting Notes
Clear and pale straw in color, this Albariño is aromatic with notes of citrus, white flowers, melon, toasted almonds, and fresh herbs. There’s also a briny sea-spray element that hints at minerality and the climate where this variety typically grows. On the palate, you’ll find it medium-bodied, dry, and tart with bright zesty acidity typical of the varietal.
Vineyard Notes
We sourced this Albariño from the same vineyard in Suisun, California, where we've also sourced Charbono in the past.
Food Pairing
It’s these characteristics that make Albariño a natural pairing with various types and preparations of seafood, especially shellfish, octopus, and white fish. Light creamy cheeses such as burrata and fresh goat cheese pair well, along with grilled vegetables.
About Albariño
The Albariño grape grows in both Spain and Portugal (where it is known as Alvarinho). In Spain it is the primary wine grape grown in Rias Baixes on the coast of Galicia in Northwestern Spain, near the Portuguese border, where the weather is often cool, windy and rainy.  In Portugal, Alvarinho is often incorporated into Vinho Verde, a bright, light-bodied and effervescent wine that is best consumed young.
