A blend of 60% Grenache, 25% Syrah, and 15% Mourvedre.
We utilized 25% whole cluster fermentation for the Syrah, and co-fermented it with the rest of the Syrah. We aged this wine in 33% each New French Oak, New American Oak, and Neutral Barrels for 18 months.
This medium-bodied, Grenache-dominated GSM blend is lush with bright fruit and sweet tobacco notes that carry all the way through the finish. Not that it's a one note wine, it's just immediately satisfying and then continues to offer up nuttiness, smoke, and vanilla that lend a lingering richness. It’s a new staff favorite! There is no need to wait to drink this wine, it's ready to drink now.
The blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre together is so classic that the blend is now commonly just called GSM. The style originated with the Côtes du Rhone wines in Southern France but is now popular in many other wine regions, especially El Dorado.
