Tart cherry leads on the palate, with with a supple tannic backbone and bright acidity that makes this Malbec perfect to enjoy now, and exceptional as a food pairing wine. Age for up to another 5 to 8 years.
State-wide the quality of fruit in 2016 was excellent. That was especially true in Paso Robles, where the effects of the drought began to ease up, resulting in slightly lower yields, but concentrated fruit of exceptional quality. A warm spring and summer followed welcome rains, while cooler September weather allowed for longer hang time that contributed to wines that are big in both flavor and structure.
