100% Pinot Noir from the Santa Lucia Highlands. The grapes were cold soaked for three days. Punch-downs and pump-overs were used for optimal flavor and color. After fermentation, the wine was carefully pressed and racked in to barrels, where malolactic fermentation was completed. Aged in 100% New French Oak, of which 1/3 had a heavy toast, and 2/3 were Complex.
Bold with ripe fruit matched by savory elements, firm tannins, and lively acidity reflecting the cooler climate of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Black cherry and red currant dominate up front, with savory notes of leather, dusty tobacco leaf, roasted coffee, smoked tea, and mineral textures revealed as the mid-palate unfolds.
