Superior Red Blend 2020 by Clos Del Bou - $50
Varietals: Carinena 60%, Garnacha 30%, Cabernet Sauvignon 10%
Viticulture: Prior to destemming, the grapes, harvested by hand, are placed in stainless steel tanks. After a cold pre-fermentation at 14ºC for three days, the must begins to ferment in contact with the skin. During the alcoholic fermentation, the temperature is kept at 25ºC maximum. The partially fermented must is bled after 20-25 days. An optimal maceration allows us to take a good dose of tannic structure, as well as anthocyanins (flavonoid pigments). The wine receives a daily punch down and also two pump-overs.
Tasting Notes: Classic profile wine with a hint of modernity, nice color and brightness. The wood, smoked and chocolate notes that stand out on the nose, are perfectly complemented by the red and black fruit hints, characteristic of the varietals. Resinous and mineral notes, typical of the terroir, pencil lead, coal and leather are also distinguished. The mouthfeel is very elegant with a perfect balance between the fraction tannic-acidity and the fraction alcoholcream. The finish is long and persistent.
