Tasting Notes

This wine pours an intense, deep purple, promising boldness from the first glance. On the nose, it’s a playful rush of cherry, raspberry, strawberry, and nostalgic red vine licorice—like a summer fair in full swing. The palate brings a surprising twist: bright red fruit and cranberry wrapped in savory notes of leather, anise, and a hint of holiday spice—like Christmas in July. Vibrant acidity and firm, robust tannins give it a tart edge and energetic structure. It all resolves in a long, balanced finish that lingers with both freshness and depth.

This is a versatile wine that will partner with many plates from Italian dishes, salads, meats and barbecues with fruit marinades, or enjoy it on its own with that bright personality!

About Syrah

The classic Rhone grape from the Rhone Valley region in France and a firm dependable for Australian wineries, but in the US it has experienced a checkered past simply because it was over-planted by California growers and pressed into the marketplace before US consumers were educated about Syrah. This is one of the wine world’s greatest varietals and many believe it to be the signature grape for the El Dorado region.
